PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
In 2003, Mr. Benson joined Mill Creek
Environmental Services, Inc. (MCES) to work as a Project
Biologist. His responsibilities with MCES include management
of field activities, project management, oversight of
sub-contractors, data compilation, drafting, report
preparation, writing proposals and marketing. Mr. Benson
is also responsible for managing all soil classification
work for MCES. This involves client communication, project
scheduling, field team management, data evaluation,
and report preparation.
Prior to joining the MCES team, Mr.
Benson was employed with North Georgia College &
State University as lab manager and field technician
over seeing water quality studies. During this time,
he was responsible for project management, field sampling,
lab work, data entry, quality control, and technical
training for lab and field assistants.
PROFESSIONAL CAPABILITIES
During his employment with MCES, Mr.
Benson has been responsible for NPDES monitoring, soil
analysis to determine suitability for use of on-site
sewage treatment systems, stream restoration and stabilization,
storm water monitoring and land application systems.
Mr. Benson has experience in many aspects of geological
and ecological assessments including installation of
soil borings and monitoring wells; collection of soil,
groundwater, surface water, sludge, and air samples;
basic land surveying; operation and maintenance of SVE
systems; tank integrity testing; and general equipment
maintenance. Additional experience includes Phase I
and II Environmental Site Assessments, preparation of
Erosion Control Plans, preparation and monitoring of
NPDES permits, and site remediation operations and maintenance.
